Rosemary is one of the most powerful herbs and consuming this on a daily basis is proven to assist longevity and cognitive health as well as protecting your heart. We want you to all live well, a long time (there is so much fun to have, so many places to see, things to read, to make and listen to, so much to do!) and be as healthy as you can be. It helps with aches and pains and soothes digestion too. We have beautiful ideas for our own crops.

One of the vitamins included in the vitamin B complex family. All B (pyroxidine) Vitamins play a key role in maintaining good health. They help with a healthy metabolism, nerve function, liver function, skin, ocular health as well as maintaining energy levels. Specifically, they are used by the body 24 hours a day, supporting memory, movement, blood flow and crucially helps to maintain a healthy nervous system, making haemoglobin, which carries our red blood cells round the body and gives us energy from the delicious foods that we eat. Vitamin B6 balances blood sugar levels, acts a natural pain treatment and boosts your mood and creates antibodies to boost our ever important immune system.

Vitamin B9 is an essential vitamin for all round health. Supporting cells and (folate/Folic Acid) is essential in preventing anaemia and imperative in preventing neural tube defects during pregnancy. It helps you combat fatigue, headaches and even depression.

Globally, according to research, this is possibly one of the leading nutrient (cobalamin) deficiencies. You need sufficient amounts of Vitamin B12 to look after you mentally and physically, so it had to go in. It helps mobilise the key ingredients within the body that look after your heart.

An essential vitamin and a personal favourite! It protects your everything: bones, muscles and your mental health. Sometimes it is referred to as the sunshine drug. It helps you absorb calcium. Your body converts it into calcitriol and it has anti inflammatory effects. You need it every day. Low levels of Vitamin D3 are associated with cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer - so let’s all keep our levels topped up! We spend more time in front of screens and less time outside, and have often a sunscreen barrier preventing us from absorbing as much as we need. We felt it essential to add to a food consumed so regularly. Don’t just take our word for it, follow this from our friends https://www.cognacity.co.uk/the-health-benefits-of-vitamin-d/

Super important for protecting skin and repairing damaged skin. It had to go in. Also, with so many ketchup eaters being young, skin and our appearance can affect not just our external appearance but also our inner confidence. It is important for your eyes too. We want you all to feel Wonder FULL. Fast and inexpensive food needs this extra ingredient to be on its side without judgement. It also fights free radicals and prevents disease development. It can balance hormones too, so all in all its very good for us.

Tomatoes, super delicious (if you like them!) but maybe in fact the worlds healthiest food, Thousands of varieties are grown all around the world. For each of our kitchens we will aim to source the best from the local crops, reducing food miles. They are anti-inflammatory and are believed to be able to stall cancer. This is one of the many reasons that we would never add sugars to our Ketchup. Tomato ketchup, if made well, can actually be really really good for you. We would never add a toxin to a natural remedy.

This is actually where Wonderchup began. Our son loves peppers Yellow Peppers and eats pots and pots of them (mmm) . They were chosen because they can sweeten Tomato Ketchup without sugar, especially if you roast them, so that is what we did and where it all began. Thank you Mum for introducing me to brightly coloured foods and fabulous salads. Peppers help your body fight everything from a cold to cancer. They are full of essential vitamins, anti-oxidants and minerals. Part of the Capsicum Annum species of plants, and the family of foods known as nightshade vegetables. Botanically, they are fruit, but nutritionally considered they are considered a vegetable. Packed full of vitamin C (tremendous for protecting cells, skin, blood vessels and cartilage, helping with wounds and and also digestion) Vitamin A (good for immune system, heart, lungs, kidneys and for ocular health).

Used for flavour but also it is great for digestion, and a healthy gut is imperative for everybody. It is also high in Vitamin C and provides additional important vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin K and Folate/B12, iron calcium, copper, zinc and selenium.

A naturally sweet and interesting spice. Used around the world medicinally for thousands of years. It is believed to have the most protective antioxidant level of all the spices and is considered anti-inflammatory. It is the only extra flavour that we need to source outside of Europe, with its credentials, you can understand why.

A totally delicious flavour but deliberately included in Wonder as, eating Garlic regularly, has been proven to help reduce the major causes of death. It is good for your health on every level, whoever you are.

Whatever allium vegetable you prefer, there are numerous benefits to the modest and ubiquitous onion. We used it for depth of flavour but also to pack extra antioxidants, flavendoids and polyphonols. It is good for your blood sugar and can help protect your bones and help against inflammation, the root of most diseases.

It helps give Wonderchup its super flavour but ACV has been fermented which helps to form health promoting probiotics and enzymes. It is the healthiest vinegar we could include, so it had to go into the pot!

We are working with Hill Farm Rapeseed Oil, who were the first producers in the UK. They are trusted by Friends of the Earth as Bee Friendly, and this matters to us. Rapeseed oil is something we can grow in the UK, so again this helps with our food miles and is a good source of Omega 3 and 6. We would use olive oil in our Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Greek kitchens.

Beetroot has been used in Wonderchup Ketchup for its colour and for its sweet earthy flavour. It is loaded with health promoting compounds, antioxidants, carotenoids and inflammation reducing properties.

A super tomato concentrate giving us extra lycopene and well as umami, which is a rounded rich and savoury taste. Kokumi is believed to be the sixth taste and is a description of the experience as much as the savoury flavour of tomato concentrate. We put these in, in order to be as future proof a product as possible. We want the very best for you. Lycopene is super powerful anti-oxidant, we get it from tomatoes, but we added even more because we don’t do things by halves. We are on your side.
